I couldn't tell by the previews what it was really about, but I was very impressed. I was planning on seeing Cabin Fever afterwards, but it was kinda late. Anywho.. every time I see a Nicholas Cage movie I am always so impressed because he is such a great actor. And I don't think about it until I see one of his movies. Well, the girl in the movie was really annoying. Let me explain..

The movie starts out with Cage and his partner. They are both conning an old lady, blah blah.. Cage has an OCD and can't stand going outside and won't let people wear shoes in his house. They con the lady and get a lot of money. It is apparent that they have been doing this for awhile because they seem to have a load of money. One day Cage loses his pills and ends up going to see a different shrink since his other one left town. This new guy actually talks to him and figures out what is really wrong with him. He finds out that Cage has a wife and possible a child. So, he has his shrink find out if he really does have a kid. He finds out that he has a daughter, about 14 years old. He decides to meet her and everything is awkward at first since he hasn't been a dad his whole life. His daughter ends up staying at his house and they bond. She finds out that he is a con artist and she wants in on the action. He teaches her a con and finds out that she is actually pretty good at it... So, Cage and his partner have been planning to con this guy for a long time, and when it gets time to do it, his daughter is totally about being a part of it. Cage reluctantly agrees, and they make their plans... okay well the rest of it is so confusing and sooooo good. I was so upset and angry at the end of the movie, but it was a really good story.. wow.

Rated R

Verdict:B+
Confusing and kinda slow at parts, but great great great surprise ending.

Chicago
Yes, I have seen it three times. Also, I went to the midnight showing of it on the day it came out, so the whole theater was loud and obnoxious, considering it almost sold out. Okay, horrible acting.. horrible! But that made it more enjoyable when they were killed. And yes, it was predictable. It had to have been the worst horror movie I have seen, probably worse than Halloween 3 (horror-wise) because they didn't even try to be scary. It was just lame. And Kelly Rowland was awful! She would randomly say "Fuck" and it sounded so retarded because she's such a bad actress. And the main character chick was bad, too. Everytime she screamed I wanted to punch her in the face because it was so fake.

Oh but Freddy and Jason rocked. I bought this movie last week. It came with Requiem for a Dream, all for $14.99, so I decided to buy it, what the hell. So, I watch it, not knowing anything about the movie. The concept is great, I love it! And the cinematagraphy.. so different and smart. Well, let me explain the story.

The main character is a numerologist (I think) and is trying to crack the code of the stock market... he believes that everything in nature has a code, a pattern. And from watching the movie, I notice that it's true and very cool. So, it goes through some really confusing parts where he figures out the code.. talks to some people.. and I'm totally lost through most of it, but I love the way it was filmed in the creepy black and white.. The whole movie is just creepy. Anyway, some Wall Street people want him because he knows the code, and the Jews want him because I think the code is the same code that they want because they have been trying to find the code to their Tora or whatever.. but yeah. Like I said, it was very confusing. And I don't remember much after that besides the fact that it was all just confusing.

Rated R

Verdict: B-
Cool, cool idea; very strange and smart.. loved it.. but it was way too confusing for me. I'll need to watch it again I suppose.

S.W.A.T.
Very exciting.. Colin Farrell is hot although he did mess up his American accent a few times, I will forgive him. It was definitely better than I expected, considering the whole movie was based on moving the criminal to a jail, but I really liked it.

Rated PG-13

Verdict: B+
Good action, but predictable. Not a great script.. mostly made of one-liners. BUT.. Colin Farrell..... so dreamy!

House of Yes
Well I rented this movie a couple weeks ago, it was a recommendation from a fellow movie theater worker. And, the movie turned out swell. Freddie Prinze Jr. was surprisingly good, but the real shocker was Tori Spelling. I only really remember her being in 90210, which we all know was an awful exhibit of anyone's acting ability, but especially hers. But, in this movie she was actually alright! There were a quite a few times when all of the actors would reply to another character too quickly, making them seem nervous, but other than that it was great. The storyline was so clever.. a screwed-up family from so many angles.. lets see.

The mother, Mrs. Pascal, played by Geneviève Bujold -- Had no motherly qualities and always had to prove that she was, indeed, a mother. She has a line where she is talking about her daughter's illness "I even gave her that soup... what is it called? Chicken noodle, I can make it. It comes in a can."

The younger son, Anthony, played by Freddie Prinze Jr. -- Had never been with a girl and was just plain confused, maybe OCD. When Lesly stays at their house, he asks her if she has towels numerous times and shows her the "thing with the toilet" a few times as well.

The older son, Marty, played by Josh Hamilton -- Seemed normal at first.. until you find out he and his sister had been having sex since they were little. He brings his girlfriend, Lesly over to the house to meet the family, which ends up being a mistake when his sister gets jealous.

The girlfriend, Lesly, played by Tori Spelling -- As I said before, Tori did a good job. The character is very young and seems innocent. At one point she is talking to Jackie-O about Marty and Jackie asks her about their sex life. Lesly gets really shy and says that Marty wouldn't want her to tell anyone about it. And Jackie replies, "Just pretend he's not my brother, that's what I do."

The sister, Jackie-O, played by Parker Posey -- She is The character in the movie. She has an illness where she thinks that she is Jackie Kennedy.. dresses like her and everything. She and her twin, Marty, even act out the moment when JFK is shot. Creepy, really. And she and Marty have been "together" since they were born. According to their mom, "they were meant for each other. Jackie was holding Marty's penis when they came out of the womb."

Well, Jackie is furious when Marty brings Lesly over and that's when the plot starts. You should check it out sometime.. it's definitely a good one.

Rated R

Verdict: A-
The story was great and there were great lines, but sometimes I was just like, "What the fuck?"
